When I was thinking about doing a sweet giveaway for Valentine's Day, Fairytale Brownies immediately came to mind. Back in October I was able to try a box of delicious brownies, and now I am a huge fan! They arrived fresh, soft, and tasted SO good. My stomach is growling just thinking about them!! I got to try a great assortment of flavors, and they were all superb.


Every Fairytale Brownies is baked by hand using a 50 year old family recipe. Creators Eileen Spitalny and David Kravetz have been friends for 16 years, and Fairytale Brownies was founded in 1992. Their recipe uses all natural ingredients like pure creamery butter, farm fresh eggs, and rich, dark Callebaut Belgian chocolate.

I reached my goal :)

I Did It!!

I have lost 10 pounds, which was my weight loss goal. I feel pretty proud of myself because it hasn't been easy. I am an 'eater' and I have had to give up a lot of yummy fattening foods. But it's worth it to have some confidence back. I think I am going to keep at this and try to lose maybe 3 more pounds. I still have plenty of pudge on my tummy, which may not ever go away (part of being a mommy) but I am going to at least try. I don't fit in my jeans anymore, and my pre-pregnancy jeans are crazy tiny. There is no WAY I will ever fit into them again, I think I have permanently widened. Which I am fine with. I would really love to wear a pair of jeans that didn't fall off of me though.

Also I am having a hard time parting with those too small jeans. I KNOW I won't ever wear them again, but for some reason I can't get rid of them. They just sit in my closet, adding to the clutter. I have a couple of favorite pairs that I just loved and it would be weird to toss them. Like they were a part of who I used to be...LOL! Crazy right?

And another thing...has anyone else noticed that when you work out, you never look as good as the instructors & their little crew? I swear, I am panting away, mess up some moves, lose my balance. They are like machines! I don't think I will ever be that graceful :) I figure as long as I keep moving and don't do any thing wrong that will injure me, I am still burning those calories. I have to work with what I got!

SAHM Guilt?

Being stay at home mom, my daughter doesn't get out much with other children. It is definitely something I think about, and worry about, all the time. Although I am thrilled to be able to keep her out of daycare, I do think she misses out on socializing with kids her age. It doesn't help that I don't know many people with kids that she can play with either. I tend to be shy, and I am not in any groups for moms & kids. This is a big problem area for me, especially because my daughter LOVES people. I mean she is the most social little girl I have ever met. She will make friends with people in stores, checkout ladies know her face and enjoy her sweet and friendly attitude. She just is SO pure, innocent, and happy.

I decided to take her to an indoor play gym in our local town. I thought it would be a good way for her to get to run around with other kids and have some fun. She is cooped up everyday in the house with me, I mean she needs to get out once and awhile ;)

So we went (I brought my husband along). I was hoping it would go well and we could go back during the week sometimes to break up the long winter days. It didn't go too well though. She was thrilled to be there. She shrieked with happiness, just overjoyed at all of the kids and scenery. But nobody was nice to her! She would go up to every little kid and say Hi to them. She even put her little arm around one little girl who was a little older than her. She didn't get one hi back, not a smile, no one was even as happy as her. I didn't see one other kid who was as sweet as her, just happy to be there and friendly to everyone. So she didn't make any little friends that day. One boy even called her stupid (he was a little bully though, and did it to another kid too).

It made me sad to see it. I know I am completely overreacting. I mean she isn't even two yet, and it's not like these kids were being rude. They are just kids and don't always say hi back, of course that's normal. I just was sad for her that she wasn't able to get a good response from anyone, and I am sad that I am not able to give her more of the activities she craves. I don't want her happy little spirit to be crushed by anyone in this world, although I know one day it will happen. It just made me realize that as she gets older, I won't be able to protect her from the things that could hurt her feelings. I mean you should have seen her. So bright & cheerful, talking to these kids, and not one smile back. Sorry, I really am just venting to get this all out. I do feel that it stems from feeling guilty that she doesn't get out more. I need to look into other activities that are geared for her age group we can get involved in.

If you are/were stay at home mom, how did you get your child out & about with other kids? It helps if they have siblings, she doesn't have that (yet!). Almost makes me want to have one right away just to give her a buddy. Almost. Joining a playgroup may be a little easier than a pregnancy & newborn though right?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! It would be nice to know what other moms think! And I am certainly not saying anything bad about the other kids that didn't want to talk to her. It's not their fault. Like I said I think it's me I am upset with, for not giving her more opportunities. I love being a stay at home mom and just need to work harder at getting out with other moms & kids. It'd be good for the both of us!

Snuggle Me Stories

My daughter absolutely loves to read books. Of course, she can't actually READ yet, being only 20 months old. But she will sit down and flip through them, name all of the things she sees, and loves to listen to you read aloud to her. She brings you a book & says "read! read!"

Some of her favorite books come from the series Snuggle Me Stories. She received 2 of them as gifts for her 1st birthday and has loved them since day one. They are interactive, and come with a little finger puppet. The first book is called Butterfly Kisses, and takes you through the journey of little creatures like bees & monkeys, all doing cute things. At the end you follow the line in the book, and cover your little baby in sweet kisses! This is sure to make them smile & want to do it all over again!

The second book is called Lovebug. Same type of story. The sentences are short and flow well. My daughter was quickly able to finish the sentences for me and even say what was going to happen on the next page, before I turned it! I was very impressed! This one is a lot of fun. At the end of the story, it tells you to tickle, tickle tickle, to the delight of every child reading this book! It is a blast!!

The last book we just bought the other day at target. It is called Bedtime Bunny. We are still getting used to it, and it isn't quite as fun as the rest, but is still just as cute. These books have really helped her develop more language skills and get excited about reading. She anticipates the tickles & kisses before the book is over, and the look on her face is priceless. We both have so much fun with these stories. I would definitely recommend them to other moms with little readers who like to laugh!

I was able to try one out for my daughter, and I chose to get her the Frank the Fish Hat. She has this huge love for all things fish or sea related, thanks to her Daddy. They love to look at their fish tank together, so I thought she would be thrilled to have a fish hat to wear on her head! And I was right!! She loves wearing it around the house. The first day she didn't want to take it off! It fits her perfectly. It is fleece and covers her ears very well. This is great for the cold winter weather we are right in the middle of! She also gets tons of compliments whenever we go out, people just love that hat!

Well today I am still sick. It is worse actually, with an added headache & watery eyes. I wish I could lay down & rest, but of course being a Mom you dont get sick days :) I have a couple of giveaways & reviews I need to write but since I can't form any coherent thought right now, I think it's best I wait.

Also I totally blew my diet yesterday, but I was so sick that I wanted to eat whatever sounded good and it helped to have a full stomach. I had Panera soup last night....so good! And so fattening! But as soon as I feel better it's back to dieting and exercising daily again. Being sick throws all of that off. I am miserable, and if eating fattening soup helps, then that's what I will do!

I also messed up my foot yesterday, and now I can't really walk on it. I was sitting on the couch when my daughter started coughing, and since she is famous for putting things in her mouth, I jumped up and ran over to her to make sure she wasn't choking. Well I ended up tripping on one of her toys, and started to fall. My toes curled under my foot, then all my weight landed on my curled toes/foot. It hurt so bad!!! It still hurts today, with an added pulled muscle in my calf. So I am hobbling around with Kleenex shoved in my nose, head pounding. Fun right? I hope I feel better tommorow.

I woke up with a yucky cold. I am so disappointed! I hate being sick. I have the runny/stuffy nose & sore throat. It just makes my day so much worse to be battling this sickness. I really hope that Loo doesn't get it, she usually doesn't get what me & her daddy have. She has a great immune system!



I am doing really well with my dieting & exercising. I have lost about 8 pounds already, so I am super thrilled about that! Probably the hardest thing is not eating all of the delicious food i see everywhere. Last night my husband made cream cheese wontons, and they are my favorite! And I resisted! Well....I resisted eating a plateful. I did have one small one, just to taste :) But for me that is great, I normally would have had maybe 10! I was looking forward to working out today but now that I feel so sick I don't think I'll be up to it.



In other news, my beautiful, crazy, ear piercingly loud bird Toastie has found a new home. I am thrilled!! I mean he was sweet at times, but horrible most of the other time. He was just WAY too loud for this house. Too loud for a house with a napping baby. So I am really enjoying the freedom of being able to walk around my house without being squawked at, and without fear that the bird will wake my daughter from her nap. He has a great new home too, with other birds and really nice people. So everyone is happy now!

Work it Out

I am writing this post just to try to motivate myself to stick with this. I am trying to lose weight. I know, I know. It'll probably end up like last time, and I will give up because I can't stay away from unhealthy food. It's my downfall. But maybe this time it will work, maybe this time it will be different. I would love to prove to myself that I can do it, and reach my goal. Honestly I don't even have a real goal. 10 pounds would be nice. I am not too interested in getting to my pre-pregnancy weight. My whole body has changed so much since then, it seems silly to wish for that. But 10 pounds would put me within 5 pounds of my starting pre pregnancy weight. And that would make me soooooo happy! So wish me luck, but don't get your hopes up LOL! I have said this before many times :)

One of my favorite products I have discovered since having my daughter would have to be Babylegs. They are adorable, cute, and have endless uses. Since this is Minnesota, and it's January, I have been using my Organic Super Soft pair of Babylegs for layering under pants to keep those little legs extra warm. I've Been Bitten...

I have a little bit of an obsession going on lately....I know I am late because it's been huge for awhile now. But I never got around to reading the series until I got Twilight for Christmas. I was completely taken with it. I was hooked, and immediately went and got the 2nd,3rd, and 4th books. I read them all in a week & 2 days. I couldn't put it down, and spent MANY nights staying up way to late, unable to put them stop reading them.


If you haven't read the books yet, I would highly recommend them. Just be prepared to become infatuated, and have all of your thoughts revolve around the characters lol! Seriously though, I was so sad when I finished the last book. I even dragged my husband along to see the movie with me this past weekend. I liked the movie okay, but the book was SO much better. There are so many things missing from the movie that I just thought were great parts of the story. I understand not everything can fit into the movie version, that's why it's great to have read the book so I didn't miss out on anything.

And just a warning ladies....while reading Twilight, you may develop a small (huge) crush on Edward. And seeing the movie doesn't help. And you may be sad when you remember he is a fictional character. Don't say I didn't warn you...Oh and put a little money aside now for all of the Twilight merchandise you will want. I know I have 2 necklaces from Etsy coming. And a pocket mirror. Do I need the pocket mirror? No. I certainly don't need to carry a mirror around in my bag. But it, ahem, had a picture of Edward and Bella on it. Nuff Said. I explained it to my husband, but he wasn't getting it. He doesn't understand, he couldn't. It's a Twilight thing :)

Here's the Mirror I had to have from DazzleBella's Etsy Shop. Pretty right? And see, there's Edward. Swoon. I also have Twilight and New Moon Scrabble pendants coming from 2 other shops. Yay! The New Moon tile just has the simple flower from the book cover on it, so beautiful.

I also bought the soundtrack. Someone should really cut me off! But I have to have a little fix, to keep me satisfied until the DVD comes out in a couple of months. The soundtrack is pretty good actually. I enjoy it and so does my husband. I think he's just glad to get Taylor Swift off repeat! Ha! But they have some amazing songs on the album, and after you see the movie they are even better.

Here are some of my favorite songs on the Soundtrack. The first & second are my top faves. The first is fun & is used in the baseball scene. And the 2nd song is used when they dance at the prom at the end, like in the image on my pocket mirror. Enjoy :)

Okay thanks for humoring me and letting me write all about the Twilight series. I can't promise I am done, but I feel a little better LOL!
